The Sisters of the Apostolic Carmel reached a historic milestone as they celebrate the 100th anniversary of St. Ursula’s Convent in Badulla. This significant centenary was honored with a celebratory Holy Mass held at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Badulla, on April 18, 2026 marking ten decades of the sisters' dedicated presence and mission within the parish of Badulla.
The Holy Mass was presided over by His Lordship, Rt. Rev. Dr. Jude Nishantha Silva, the Bishop of Badulla. The occasion brought together a distinguished gathering, including the Provincial Superior Rev. Sr. Nilanthi AC and her councilors, alongside numerous sisters from various communities and other religious congregations. Priests serving throughout the Diocese also joined the remarkable celebration, which served as a profound tribute to a century of spiritual service and community impact in the region.
